DBRB3 project - Battle against giants fanwish 2

The "DBRB3 fanwish project" is a synthesis of fan wishes about the Dragon Ball games that I made in order to communicate with Namco Bandai's japanese producers and label director.

It has been shown to the complete team of producers on july 7th 2012, during a meeting in Villepinte, near Paris (France).

If you like the project and want it to become a true game one day, please join the Facebook page here: [link]

Namco Bandai producers want us "ask insistingly enough", let's do it! ^_^

Nostal I think.....you should do Custom Attires like from WWE Games.

Where you use custom textures by drawing them with the Controller. So If you want you can make a rainbow hair possibly.

Or, a special offiuit like Dragon Ball AF Goku Coustume. (This Works for all characters and, Created characters.)

Also custom moves say if kamekameha is blue you can change it to Red. And, for attacks you can have multipal movesets.

Finally, Custom Voices for Created Characters using your voice! Customize your voice change the pitch (For this feature you need a kinect or a Headset in gamechat.). Type subtitles for your character.

These giant forms should be playable. It's not too difficult to accomplish. How bad ass and awesome would it be to have 2 giants or more battling it out in a DB game!

In Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 there are giant.vs.giant battle. It wouldn´t be easy for the developers, but it would be possible.

I actually like this idea of yours. I mean these giant boss battles should have different scenarios but yet the same gameplay. I like the idea. But do you think these should have quick time events like they did in ultimate tenkaichi with the bosses.

Well, I personally like quick time events, but I understand that there are those who find it unnecessary. So I personally would have giants play differently. For example, during story mode, there would be quick time events only during certain areas of gameplay. Like when something story wise requires it. But during the rest of the fight, the main character plays like he would in any other battle. (for the most part) The only difference is (because of the great size difference)The smaller character would only attack areas of the giant's body. For example, when the smaller character is closer to the bottom half of the giant, that is what he has to focus on. He also has an option of moving to a different area at all times. Perhaps a small cutscene could be used while adjusting. But I think people will be more interested in fighting the upper half of the body. Because the gameplay will be closer to normal gameplay. People who play as giants will have a bit of a disadvantage because they will be a slower, but their attacks will be stronger and most will be unblockable. Not to mention they won't flinch when attack unless the smaller character uses charged attacks. So when it comes to giant fights, evasion, is the key. But, it's a work in progress.

Yes that's true. In truth I to love quick time events if put in right. Like God of War just seeing Kratos defeating his bosses is just awesome and the boss battles in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. I think those were interactive, beautiful to look at, and awesome. Those are examples of putting quick time events on the right path. But I agree they should adjust the quick time events like give us a hint of when to begin or something.

Yeah that's true. Not to mention Kinect ruined all of that. Anyways I think it's a good idea to have all of these characters and have all of these giant boss battles. But I have alot of questions to ask due to your DBR3 project. Like would you bring back SSJ3 Broly and Vegeta. Not to mention making a SSJ3 Vegito and Gogeta?

I left enough freedom in the character creation mode so everybody can create his own what-if character. There are lots of fans who don't like these delirious transformations that doesn't make sense in the original story. :)

Then I must admit I am kinda surprised that you wrote "it's not too difficult". ^^

We're talking about next-gen programming with HD 3D models, and a big difference of scale between the fighters. It requires a different gameplay than the "sparking" one, because the camera can't be behind the giant (or else we wouldn't see the opponent).

Furthermore, if the battlefields are irregular (slopes, undestructible cliffs), this would create a big load of camera issues. Especially if 2 giants fight each other. It's not impossible, but it would require a lot of development time, including month of debug.

If the giants are to be playable again one day, and this time with their real size, the developer must find a lot of solutions that the previous games never found.

If you're surprised, I think that only shows how much creativity you have. ^^

The camera can be zoomed out when giants fight each other. Also, I've been wanting a much wider fighting area for 2 reasons: 1 so giants can have space to throw down. And 2 so the average sized fighters can have more options other than punch a bunch of times, then use a super or ultimate attack from afar. As I explained in my comment to ChaosKnightXZ, the gameplay varies depending on the type of character that is chosen. And this isn't a new or revolutionary idea of changing gameplay. Many games do this. Assassin's Creed 3, Metal Gear Solid 4 or Path of Neo for example. It's only difficult for those with limited creativity.

Regarding "issue" of giants being put near slopes or indestructible cliffs. Is there any reason why they should be indestructible? Or better yet, since they are so much bigger than these cliffs and slopes, why not have them react to these areas the same way a normal character would react to standing next to a small rock? For example, if an average sized character was near a stoop, he would walk up it. This same rule can be applied to giants. Only for indestructible areas.

And do you know the most interesting thing about this is? The current game engines can easily work with and implement this. Perhaps Spike should look at their game engine.

Yeah that's true. Now do you think that for exclusive to this game their may be a way to make SSJ5 Goku and Vegeta. I mean people sometimes want to see that happen. But know one will know what a SSJ5 would look like all I know is that they have white hair like a super saiyan three form and a monkey tail.

I see that if wanted Abo and Cado from the OVA in. Well, seeing how Kinect is including the Episode of Bardock along with a playable SSJ Bardock (Bastards..) If your RB3 comes to life, it would be a good chance to include the OVA with it.

Excellent !
