DBRB3 project - Character graphics fanwish

The "DBRB3 fanwish project" is a synthesis of fan wishes about the Dragon Ball games that I made in order to communicate with Namco Bandai's japanese producers and label director.

It has been shown to the complete team of producers on july 7th 2012, during a meeting in Villepinte, near Paris (France).

If you like the project and want it to become a true game one day, please join the Facebook page here: [link]

Namco Bandai producers want us "ask insistingly enough", let's do it! ^_^

I might have showed you this before but on this fan dbz game project I'm working on we are also looking to create the exact anime celshades like in the anime. The problem here is you have to have a different colored shade for every different colored part of the model. We managed this by separating the 3D model into different parts according to the color.

Here's some examples:

For instance on Vegeta's blue jumpsuit the shadows are alot darker than, let's say, his white gloves or his skin. This is something you can't do if you don't split up the model.

That's why in budokai 3/bt3 you may have for instance goku ssj3 with the right color for the hair and yellow clothes, but the blue parts won't have the dark shadows needed, they use the same shadow as the yellow. That's why in this budokai 3 pic, Goku looks overall yellow.

See how we made it look. I really think this is a very good achievement. :)

Anyway hope this makes you as excited as it does me. ;)

Very very good, indeed! So you're working on ZEQ2! You have all my respect, I was very excited when I discovered this project 2 years ago!

Your work on the colors is very impressive, it seems very hard to remake the real colors of the anime.

Yes but it is possible. So if we can do it, professional game designer should surely be able to!

And this one is awesome not only as a fanwish for new games (I cannot simply care about fighting games 'cause I suck at them - lack of motion coordination gives you this) but as a coloring tutorial for DB - I couldn't ever pinpoint the difference in coloring between DB(Z) and DBGT and here it is - it's the difference between points 1 and 3 :D Thanks an enormous lot!
